Match Day - Overview
My responsibilities span across every phase of match day, ensuring that all components—from tactical planning and player preparation to in-game adjustments and post-match analysis—are aligned with our strategic objectives.
By working closely with the head coach, sports science staff, analysts, and medical teams, I provide the necessary support to create an environment that not only focuses on immediate match outcomes but also on the sustained development of both the team and the club’s broader football philosophy. This approach ensures the club’s vision is consistently reflected in both performance and progress.

Staff Roles
On match day, my role is to oversee the coordination of all staff, ensuring the coaching team, medical personnel, analysts, and support staff are executing their roles effectively. I ensure each department operates smoothly, contributing to our high-performance environment.
Planning
I monitor the final preparations, ensuring the game plan, data analysis, physical conditioning, and logistical elements are all in place. I check that the coaching staff has everything they need to implement strategies, staying within our resource constraints.
Meetings
I oversee pre-match meetings, ensuring the coaches have reviewed all necessary tactical adjustments and updates with the team. I make sure that all staff—coaches, analysts, and support personnel—are clear on their tasks and fully aligned.
Changeroom Leadership
I ensure the coaches are fostering the right atmosphere in the changeroom, striking a balance between focus and motivation. My role is to observe and provide support where needed, ensuring the mental and emotional readiness of the players.
Warm-Up
I oversee the warm-up process, ensuring that the sports science and coaching teams are focused on preparing the players both physically and tactically. I step in if any adjustments are required to maintain a smooth transition into the game.
Game Plan
I ensure that the coaching staff is effectively communicating the game plan, which has been developed through data analysis and tactical insights. Throughout the match, I monitor to make sure the plan is being executed and that adjustments are made as needed.
Coaching in the Game
During the game, I observe the coaches as they manage in-game tactics and player adjustments. My role is to ensure they have the support they need to adapt to the flow of the game and to provide any strategic oversight if necessary.
Post-Match Media
Post-match, I ensure that coaches and staff handle media responsibilities professionally. The focus is on communicating the team's progress, performance insights, and how it aligns with our broader strategic goals.
